Visitor record for the HMKV: „The Paradise Machine" attracts over 20,000 visitors

The exhibition Paradise Machine by Berlin artist Niklas Goldbach has set a new visitor record at the HMKV Hartware MedienKunstVerein: Over 20,000 visitors came to see the exhibition, which ended on 1 September. It is the exhibition with the most visitors in the history of the HMKV.

In his exhibition, Niklas Goldbach addressed the fact that paradises do not always fulfil the idea of a relaxing island with a caribbean beach in a very catchy way. The artist's works deal with projects that reach for the stars or at least promise a paradise on earth, but also with their downsides. Visitors were able to explore the tense relationships between utopias and dystopian scenarios through the video and photographic works. Between large-format video works and wooden bungalows, which divided up the exhibition space based on the architecture of the Center Parcs, the exhibition was quickly so well attended that it was extended until 1 September.
