A guided tour through the exhibition Niklas Goldbach: The Paradise Machine takes place every Sunday and on public holidays between 16. March 2024 – 11. August 2024. Starting at 16:00 at the front desk of the HMKV, at the Dortmunder U, level 3. Admission is free.
The HMKV is part of the initiative Green Culture Dortmund. During the event days (18 – 24 March) this guided tour takes place. Sustainable utopias and dystopian paradises play a huge role in Goldbach‘s works: these can be uncompleted housing developments in sprawling new neighbourhoods straight from the drawing board, artificial islands as failed investment properties, architectural remnants of model cities in the desert (California City), socialist prefabricated buildings in Berlin-Lichtenberg, the AIDA cruise ship, the huge underground train station Stuttgart21 or the village-swallowing pit of the open-cast lignite mine in Garzweiler.
Drop in, no pre-booking required.
Duration approx. 45 min.
Please note that public guided tours are held in German unless stated otherwise.
