Workshop with Nadja Buttendorf: ♥ [ASMR] ♥ - blast from the past
Dortmunder U | Level 3
ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) is a net-cultural form of physical stimulation through whispering and soft sounds that has developed and spread on the largest online platform, YouTube. The listener*in/viewer*in finds the tingling on the skin, triggered by those very soft noises, very pleasant. The ASMR videos are often carried out by young women, in the sense of care activity.
As a contemporary medium, however, most ASMR videos use only the latest high-tech utensils to evoke tingles. In this workshop, we deliberately use high-tech from prehistoric times and transform it into a pop-cultural format.
The workshop will take place as part of HMKV's Computer Grrrls exhibition at the Dortmunder U (until Feb 24, 2019).
