Thies Mynther composed and produced the music and soundtrack respectively for DEFENDER (2021) and Border Control (2021) by Stefan Panhans and Andreas Winkler – currently to be seen and heard in the solo exhibition The Pow(d)er of I Am Klick Klick Klick and a very very bad musical! at the HMKV (15 May – 5 September 2021).
Thies Mynther is a transdisciplinary artist and composer from Hamburg. Thies Mynther has played a leading role as lyricist, musician and producer on over a hundred albums – whether in his own formations such as Phantom Ghost or as collaborator with artists such as Miss Kittin, Chicks on Speed or Dillon. He also writes and stages his own musical theatre pieces, performances, exhibitions and video works and has worked for the stage as composer, musician and musical director with directors as diverse as Nicolas Stemann, Sebastian Baumgarten or Showcase Beat Le Mot.
During the Listening Session, the soundtracks and further pieces will be presented by the musician and discussed together with Inke Arns, curator and HMKV director, as well as the artists Stefan Panhans and Andrea Winkler.
